PocDoc healthy heart test rolled out by Superdrug

Digital health diagnostics company PocDoc’s Healthy Heart Check is now available in Superdrug pharmacies and online.

The CVD screening test offers patients a cholesterol profile, BMI score, NHS heart age and ten-year risk assessment for heart attacks or strokes. Test results and overall cardiovascular health risk can be shared directly back into the NHS app.

Research shows that early detection can prevent up to 80 per cent of CVD cases, potentially saving an estimated 136,000 lives each year in the UK.

The listing with Superdrug follows similar collaborations with Well Pharmacy, Dears Pharmacy and Pharmacy2U as well as commissioned partnerships with local NHS bodies in Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East of England and Cumbria.

Steve Roest, chief executive and co-founder of PocDoc, said: “We are incredibly excited to ... bring the Healthy Heart Check to even more people across the UK. Cardiovascular disease is one of the country’s biggest health challenges – prevention is key to addressing it.”

Craig Watt, Superdrug’s pharmacy director, added: “By making this innovative test easily available to our customers, we’re supporting the Government's shift from treatment to prevention, helping to ease the pressure on the NHS and empowering individuals to take control of their heart health.”
